The
National Society on Alcohol and Drug Dependence
Working alongside AA, was initially established in response to a growing
need for drug and alcohol counselling, education, treatment and rehabilitation.
By the mid-1990s, NSAD had transformed itself from a funded provider to
a contracted provider and to a successful business operation focusing
on drug and alcohol counselling, education and rehabilitation. This led,
in the late 1900s to NSAD establishing an operating company -now known
as Care NZ, which is responsible for the day to day commercial operations,
drug and alcohol education, treatment, counselling and prevention.
